Corrido ("we," "us," or "our") is a private platform for capturing, organizing, and preserving family stories. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Corrido mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Corrido, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information — your name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account.
• Audio and video recordings — story recordings you create within the app, including any associated transcripts generated from those recordings.
• Family and story data — names, relationships, and other details you provide when building your family archive.
• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and service improvement.
• Usage data — basic analytics about how you interact with the app, such as features used and session duration.
• Contact form information — if you message us through our website, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit. If you opt in, we also store your contact details with our email provider (Brevo) so we can send product updates you requested.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Store, organize, and deliver your family stories and recordings.
• Provide transcription, search, and other features that make your archive useful.
• Improve the reliability, performance, and quality of our service.
• Communicate with you about your account, service updates, or support requests.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure located in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including:

• Encryption in transit using TLS/SSL.
• Encryption at rest for stored recordings and personal data.
• Access controls that limit who can access your data within our systems.

While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:

• Infrastructure providers — we use third-party services (such as AWS, Brevo for email and contact-form delivery, and authentication providers) to operate Corrido. These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

5. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the Corrido app. When you delete your account:

• Your account is deactivated and your sessions are revoked immediately.
• Your stories are removed from family archives and families you own become read-only for other members.
• Your data will be permanently purged from our systems within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Corrido is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@trycorrido.com.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Corrido after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
